This Ford Transit Fire Appliance is the 1st issue in non-metallic red – a more difficult find. Complete ‘FIRE SERVICE’ paper labels on both sides, intact original aerial, opening doors with fire hose, which you can retract by means of a lever. Comes complete with the two axes! Shiny spun wheels and as-new original tyres.
Matte base.
Model looks unused with complete paper labels. Virtually mint condition.
The colourful card box is complete and bright. Light grubbiness and an end flap scuff. Not as much wear as you might expect (heavy model in a comparatively flimsy box). Period penned pricing at an end flap and faint surface loss due to the removal of a price label or similar, nearby.
Issued 1968-74, although this version would be at the start of the production run.
