Notes
Sought-after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
The first we have ever offered for sale. This rare model has a vivid yellow , pale grey and red finish, with window glazing, red metal ridged wheels, well-shaped original tyres and both chevron labels still present on the drop-down ramps.
Trace of the original elastic band which secured this model to the card insert. Inevitable marking where the two components attach (metal against metal), and the occasional little mark besides. Note that there are a couple of dabs of a deeper yellow paint on the yellow cab (one at a wheel arch and the other two on one of the ‘blocks’ behind the cab).
The model still has its card insert – as is so often the case with these Nicky Toys the base is crudely cut – note that one can just see the red print ’NICKY TOYS" at one edge. Original old elastic bands in situ.
The colourful, clean, and distinctive lift-off lid box is complete Note the three punctures in the lid, though no parts missing. No seam splits or repairs and the sturdy buff lower half of the box shows barely any wear at all.
