This De Soto Fireflite Police car was made between 1960-61 (first issue in the range from Dinky). Glossy, original black paint finish, white front doors, red roof light, intact straight aerial, shaped spun wheels with suspension. Shiny black baseplate and the treaded tyres run well. Complete ‘POLICE’ lettering on bonnet, doors and boot.
Note that there is no scratch on the roof – merely light reflection.
Few little marks/chips at bumpers and a few little marks besides. Small stray dab of silver immediately above the POLICE sign on the driver’s door.
The box is very clean, fresh and bright. Small edge crumple and a little thumb tear at one internal end flap hinge. Period pencilled price at an end flap and a neatly-penned date of 1956.
