D440
Dinky 440 Tanker 'Mobilgas'. Near mint plus/boxed (wear). Rare issue with DARK BLUE 'MOBILGAS' lettering.
Notes
A classic sought-after Dinky Studebaker Tanker (early issue 1954-58) with an eye-catching day-one vivid sheen. In all original condition, and a harder version to find with intact dark blue ‘MOBILGAS’ lettering on a cream background and complete ‘MOBIL’ lettering and logo at the rear. None of the usual rubs to the silver raised domes on the roof either!
Bright baseplate. Treaded ‘M’ for Meccano tyres run well. Shiny silver trim.
Small area of rough casting/paint blemish on one side. Couple of little marks at a window post and a couple toward the rear on one side. Few stray dots of factory silver at the rear.
The picture box is complete although one end flap has been re-attached. Pencilled numbering at an end flap.
