Notes
One of the most popular Corgi models ever, issued between 1965-69. This particular example has come straight from a childhood collection, bought new at the time and carefully handled/stored.
It is in all original condition with none of the reproduction accessories, rife with this issue.
The car is fully functioning, complete with both figures. Suspension on wire wheels. A few small marks to the paint finish only and under close scrutiny, a couple of the tyres have tiny splits in them. The plinth on which the model sits is in very near perfect condition – very crisp, bright and fresh with no wear at the wheel slots. A little area of surface removal on the letter ‘N’ of Aston on the header. The Instruction packet has been carefully opened and inside there are the all-important Secret Instructions which detail the retractable machine guns, opening roof and ejector seat, rear bullet screen and telescopic over-riders. All have been tested and work perfectly! The packet also contains the unapplied 007 badge which is still affixed to the backing sheet. The important part that would be affixed to your lapel is present and complete, another piece of cloth which would have been stuck above the badge on the backing paper stating “Peel label off backing and stick on lapel or shirt” is missing. Inside the packet, too, there is the spare villain figure, in case the first one goes astray!
The outer box is generally bright and complete with all end flaps. A little minor age wear at edges and corners, and a shopkeeper’s price of 9/11 on one end flap.
All in all, this a piece of Corgi history and a nostalgic treat!
