D512
Dinky 512 Guy Flat Truck. Rare issue in maroon & black. Very, very near mint/boxed. A premium item from a Dinky collector in Tyne & Weir, England. An incredibly fresh classic Dinky commercial!
Notes
Surely one of the best surviving examples of this rare first issue example in maroon and black made between 1947-48 only. Looking as the fresh as the day it left the Binns Road factory in Liverpool!
Such a fine lustre to this distinctive warm finish! Spare wheel, small unpainted hook.
Not easy to find in this superb all original condition. Tempted to grade this truck as mint. Just a light rub on the flat bed edge and a couple of mere dots besides. High lustre and gleaming metal parts show that this model has been very carefully handled and stored.
The early buff box has complete and bright paper labels. The card is sound, although there is some rust staining at the staples. No splits. The colours have lost none of their vibrancy.
Period pencilled price at lid end label.
We do not ever expect to find a better example.
