C497
Corgi 497 The Man From UNCLE's Thrushbuster. Rare cream export version. Very, very near mint (one mark)/boxed. With original Waverley ring, two card packing rings and card wrap-around packing piece. From a diecast enthusiast in Edinburgh.
Notes
This is a most unusual item from Corgi in the scarce cream finish and made for just for one year only (1966). Usual colour finish is metallic blue.
This particular example is in very close to mint condition with a fine and original cream finish with a notably complete and bright bonnet logo. Please note that this is a completely authentic example, correct that it does not have a bonnet cast square immediately surrounding the bonnet label (only the metallic blue version has this casting detail).
Minutely scrutinised, you will see a small edge mark to a rear point.
This example comes complete with the original Waverley ring. Two card packing rings as well as the wrap around card packing piece are also present (so often missing).
The inner card stand is crisp with very bright strong colours. In very close to pristine condition with even three of the four push-out tabs at the wheel slots still present! Tiniest wear at one of the wheel slots. Note too that this is the correct plinth for this version with a monochrome base on which the model stands.
Lots of information on the UNITED NETWORK COMMAND FOR LAW AND ENFORCEMENT (U.N.C.L.E.) on box plinth reverse:
The outer box is extremely crisp, vivid and fresh, with very minor wear only. Tiny barely visible scuff, Very small minor stain and slight rubbing nearby. Couple of minor ruffles at end flap hinge (being extra-fussy here).
A rare t.v. inspired Corgi item in complete and authentic condition, issued for a very limited time. An excellent investment piece.
