A very early Corgi/Mettoy model released as a promotional item for the CWS company. This scarce early model is finished in bright red with a black platform and original silver detailing at the lights, bonnet detail and steps at the sides of the cab.

This example has a poor casting in places with a small uneven area behind one rear wheel arch and at the rear of the model. The all-important slogan for CWS Soft Drinks is notably complete. Few little marks only and a couple of very small and quite subtle touch-ins.
The correct box is very fine indeed with clean and crisp card which is tear free and shows minimal handling.

Delightful little colour leaflet is still present too which is clean and bright, with just a couple of very small edge tears :

A piece of early Corgi/Mettoy history since in 1957, with minor alterations, this model was launched as a Corgi model (numbered 455) in blue with a rear window, and of course no lettering at the rear.
What a find – and the first we have ever handled!
