This splendid first issue Foden with a red cab and flatbed with black chassis and flash is a rare find indeed from 1947-48. This beautiful Dinky Foden has a vivid day one bright finish throughout, bright metal parts and fine tread radial tyres, 20 mph label at rear wheel arch.

Correct that this model has no tanker slits nor chain post bosses and is a very early issue without a tow hook.

There are a couple of chips on the bed and at one rear exposed corner edge. Occasional small mark at a wheel arch. Rough casting at a wheel arch. Presents extremely well, nevertheless, with a fine sheen – and this is such a difficult model to find!
Correct early box is in very fine condition – looking fresh and vibrant with no splits or graffiti. Crisp, clean card feels sturdy too. Factory stamp ‘R’ at box lid end. Minor grubbiness to the top edge of the paper label and tiny wear besides.
