An essential item in your Dinky commercial collection, this Guy van was made during Dinky’s heyday and is part of the sought-after range of advertising vans made during mid-late 1950s.
Issued between 1953-54 before its renumbering to 917.
This is an all original early issue with delightful, distinctive transfers on both sides. One side is perfect, the other has a little rub to the letter ‘N’. In sparkling very close to mint condition, there are just a couple of little marks at the rear. None of the usual marks at raised body lines at the sides, or at exposed edges – this van has been very carefully handled.
Bright baseplate too:
The deep blue card box has a complete paper label and no splits at corners. Very small storage tear to the side of the lid (not a full puncture and no parts missing). Minor age wear besides. Faintly pencilled period price of 7/- on one end of the lid. The box base is a touch smaller than the lid and a slightly different shade – probably another Guy Van box base that has been inadvertently swopped, somewhere along the way!
