The first we have ever sold or indeed seen! This promotional Routemaster Bus was issued during just 1973, hand-made and uniquely finished in gold. Few were made. They were presented to the press at the launch of the advertising campaign to commemorate the preview of the London Bus advertising Meccano in 1973. Not made available for sale generally. The campaign featured a full size London Bus in blue, advertising Dinky Toys with pictures of models too.
This example is in all original condition with a bright gold finish, complete with driver and conductress. Cast wheels. Some lightly scattered chipping and minor grubbiness to transfers. The Meccano transfers have some nicks. Complete transfer at the rear.
Rarely comes to market in any condition.
