This rare version is in splendid, virtually mint condition with a gleaming bright paint finish throughout! Rich cream cab and chassis and a distinctive mid-blue back with perfect ‘DINKY SERVICE’ lettering in black. Red ridged wheels and smooth black tyres, shiny winding handle. Complete with a working tow hook.

Notably, there is no paint loss at the tinplate jib. Tiniest scratch just beneath the lettering on one side and there is some mottling to the baseplate. Tiny dot or two besides.
The bright yellow and dark blue lift-off lid picture box is very nice indeed with excellent strong colours on sturdy card.

A little (what looks like ink) marking on the lid. Minor seam wear in one place. Box base is the deepest blue colour with none of the usual scuffing. Glue residue from an old price label on the box underside. A scribbled out price to one lid end. Dinky dates this model from 1957 (stamp inside the lid).
The finest example of this rare variation we have seen.
