Notes

This model was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and is a close to mint, all original example, issued between 1966-69. The first time we have offered for sale this version with the gold-wheeled Bentley.
The set was originally exported to the U.S. (note the 5 dollar shop label at one end flap). Overall impression is extremely fine – this looks like unsold shop stock.
It comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish, is in very close to mint condition complete with all delicate parts intact. Complete with original figure of John Steed. The gold wheels have picked up a few little rubs along the way. None of the usual marks on the black running boards or at exposed points. Very nice indeed.

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in sparkling white finish. This model is virtually mint too with one little pin prick dot at the driver’s door handle. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Original figure of Emma Peel.

Nearly always all missing – this set comes with three original umbrellas!
Inner card plinth is in excellent condition with bright graphics. Just a little wear at two wheel slots. Two very small stains on the yellow base. Original card packing piece which slides underneath is still in place. Both tabs are present and intact. Card is crisp. Vivid colours. Some of the slots have the push-out tabs still in place.

Original card wrap-around piece is clean, bright and tear-free.

Colourful outer box is one of the best we have seen, despite a few minor handling issues. The card looks so bright and crisp, very clean and feeling “silky” ( rarely handled). Minor surface rub on one picture side. Small puncture at one side which has pressed back into place. Small tear at the tuck in part of one large end flap.
Still a VERY NICE BOX!
