Issued between 1961-62, this model has an original and lustrous, bright red paint finish with red diecast hubs, knobbly tyres, a Leyland grille and complete ‘Exide Batteries’ labels on one side, tiny nick in the transfer at the other. ‘73’ on destination boards at front and rear, too.

Notably, this bus has lost none of its colour vibrancy, has none of the usual chips at wheel arches or on the roof, so this sought-after model displays really well. One tiny raised dot of what looks like a stray piece of yellow transfer on the roof and the occasional small rub or mark if you peer closely enough.
The pictorial card box is complete and crisp with all end flaps intact. Minor age grubbiness only and the faint remains of a French shopkeeper’s pencilled price of 45 Francs at one end flap.
