Notes
This is one of a cache of mid 1960’s models which included colour trial models, donated to Barnardo’s Charity upon the death of a relative. The Barnardo’s charity shop is located just a few minutes from the old Corgi headquarters….
Finished in this most attractive and distinctive cyan blue and white, with white side flash detail around the windows, this Marlin Rambler model is a truly remarkable find. One can only rue the day that this colour version was passed over in favour of the red and black issue or indeed the metallic blue and white production version included in Corgi Gift Set 10 Marklin Rambler & Kayaks set.
Bright chrome radiator and bumpers. Original fine tread Corgi stamped tyres are well-shaped. Cream interior. Shaped spun wheels with suspension. Tow hook. Rivetted base.
A few tiny marks to the paint finish.
Crisp bright and fresh card box looks so close to perfect!
With the Corgi 109 Pennyburn Trailer being purhcased at the same time from the same source, we are led inevitably to the conclusion that these two may have been considered for inclusion in Corgi Gift Set 10 Marlin Rambler & Kayak Set?
