Tri-ang Minic 1M Ford Saloon
Ford Saloon by Minic Models, No. 1M. Working clockwork motor with key. Very near mint /boxed. Rare PRE-WAR issue in BEIGE. An exceptional find!
Notes
What a find! An endearing reminder of a bygone age, the real ‘£100’ Ford Saloon was produced in Dagenham, during 1938. This diminutive version measures just 8.5 cms.
A real survivor and a particularly hard find version to source in this distinctive beige colour. Shiny radiator. Shiny intact bumpers. Bright wheels. Original white tyres are well-shaped. Note that the wheels are tinplate, a one-piece pressing designed to accommodate the special tyres which are cut with grooves on the inner sides. White tyres appeared on the earlier version (later black).
Pre-war issue so note the SHELL Petrol Can on one of the running boards.
With original key. Working clockwork motor.
Few marks to the finish.
Nice to see that the buff card box is complete and bright. Age grubbiness now and unsurprisingly there is a tear an end flap hinge. Print is clear and strong. With Minic Key.
Surely one of the best surviving examples.
