Originally this model came from The Monty Calme landmark Corgi Collection, covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection was a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.

This is a two-tone colour trial using both of the issued colours of salmon and beige. Lemon interior and shaped spun wheels. Jewelled headlights. An eye-catching item, and a shame that this particular version never went into production. Note the rubbing/quality of the paint in places where the two colours meet.
Mooted but never produced, this is probably a unique item, or at the very least one of only a handful produced. Made at some point during the production run 1962-65.
