So rare to come to the market=place. The Karmann Ghia Coupé model is nearly always found in the red and yellow non-picture box. Scrolling through our archives, each model listed over decades has been in the expected red and yellow box. So, a First for QDT – Dinky 187 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia in the picture box – this is such an exciting find!
The VW is a pleasing, all original example finished in lustrous mid-green with with a cream roof, shiny spun wheels with suspension and smooth black tyres (well-shaped). Shiny base has minor marking.
All original condition and in very close to mint condition.
The all-important light yellow end flap card box with the model illustration on both faces was issued in limited numbers right at the start of the production run in 1959. Note the small printed detail ‘Prov-Pat. 1026/59-1165/59’.
We are delighted to say that this rare original box is fresh, clean and bright with a crisp feel to the card. A little scribbled out period price on an end flap and the tiniest of handling tears.
