Dinky Toys 514 Guy Van 'SLUMBERLAND'
Guy Van "SLUMBERLAND" by Dinky Toys, No. 514. Near mint plus/boxed. With EARLY BLACK WHEELS - exceptionally rare version from 1948. From The Reference Collection. A First for QDT! Starting bid £200. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Issued during 1948, this Guy Advertising Van model has a vivid red lustrous paint finish with complete detailed transfers on both sides and above the cab roof. The rarest version and one often missing from even the most comprehensive of collections- this is the earliest issue with black wheels.
Hard to find a mark to the paint finish – under the most minute scrutiny, a few small touch-ins may be found.
Shiny base (minor marking). Smooth original tyres.
The early powder blue box is complete and clean, with a strongly-coloured paper label. Light age/handling wear. Period pencilled prices on a short lid end.
