A rare find from this collector.
Released in 1969, this is the first issue Dragster Set . Fluorescent red cockpit and long yellow bonnet with a complete red and white striped bonnet label,‘Inch-Pincher & ’Fireball’ labels. Detailed spoked wheels. With pale blue starter unit.
In very close to mint condition.
Colourful card plinth is clean, bright and complete. Minor wear includes a couple of small tears caused by model movement.
The colourfully illustrated card box is fresh, clean and bright. Light wear only.

With period promotional items from the release of this model:
1) Meccano News Bulletin. Dated 24th July 1969. Couple of light creases.
2) Black & white Press Photo.
3) Promotional hanging card sign. Few issued on this sturdy card with brass rings enabling it to be suspended (large toys shops or indeed the toy shows at the time). More likely that toy shops would be issued with window paper flyers promotional items which would be cheaper to make and so much more numerous!
