Special Release Corgi James Bond Aston Martin Presentation Set
James Bond Aston Martin Presentation Set, marking the sale of the real James Bond Aston Martin DB5 at Sotheby's RM Auction House in 2010. Mint/boxed, one of only 100 released, complete with all accessories. A truly remarkable item from a private collection in the UK.
Notes
At Sotheby’s RM Auctions in 2010 a very special sale took place – the auction for the iconic James Bond Aston Martin DB5 as used by Sean Connery in the films Goldfinger and Thunderball took place.
To mark this sale, a Special Release of only 100 Corgi James Bond Aston Martins were sold, each one numbered in print on the box (this example is number 043) and the ASton Martin pictured on the box had the same numberplate as the real James Bond Aston Martin auctioned i.e. FMP 7B.
This example in silver has a high quality finish and is in mint condition, never removed from its plinth. Has the number plates ‘FMP 7B’ front and rear (non-revolving). 1:36 scale car (like Corgi 271) although it has extra details – wing mirrors, a different windscreen with moulded wipers and the wheels are quite different, too. Pristine pale grey plinth and colourful glossy card end flap picture box with ‘043’ stamped to denote that this particular example is no. 43 of only 100 issued.
Colourful outer box is virtually mint.
Lift up the lid on the enigmatic plain black box and inside you will find a foam inlay which contains the large black DB5 Folder which holds the intentionally weathered and stained confidential 36 page dossier – as if this particular dossier has accompanied James Bond on one of his missions.
Also included is the most exciting find (in our opinion) – the gear knob complete with ejector button! With internal thread so that it could be fitted to a real car potentially.
Laminated Limited Edition Certificate included.
