Notes
Slightly later issue (1963-68) with blue plastic sliding doors at ends and middle.
This example is in original and unused condition with a day-one vibrant red and blue paint finish. None of the usual sunfading to the red or rubbing to the blue ‘Chipperfields’ lettering. One of the first plastic sliding doors issues, since this example has flat pun wheels. Intact tow hook and drawbar, and the amber roof glass is intact.
Upon the closest inspection, one may see a few pinhead marks at the hinged metal doors ( practically unavoidable) and one little chip besides.
Nice to see that this example isco plete with all accessories – notably an unnapplied ‘LIONS’ transfer, printed notice from Corgi, ‘Moorgate’ Corgi Club Membership Form, packing card and packing ring! Lion and Lioness are still enclosed within the original stapled clear plastic bag too!
Lift-off lid pictorial box is close to mint with vivid colours, clean and fresh. Looks barely handled. No tears or splits. Small amount of rubbing at some edges (very minor) and a very small area of surface removal at one end.
Not an easy find in this condition.
