Corgi Toys 497 Man From UNCLE Thrushbuster
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Thrushbuster by Corgi Toys, No. 497. Very near mint /boxed. Dark purplish-blue issue. Monochrome plinth. Early issue with METAL (not plastic) spotlights. With all packing. From The Bluehouse Collection of fine Corgi.
Notes
Issued between 1966-69, this Oldsmobile car has a gleaming, deep purple-blue finish, complete, clean and fresh bonnet logo (so often discoloured), bright chrome parts, detailed cast wheels. Fine original tyres. If you press the roof periscope the figure moves from side to side to shoot the enemy! A sought-after Corgi model; this is the earliest version of the Thrushbuster with metal spotlights (to dazzle the enemy!).
In very close to mint condition.
Tiny dot of factory red paint on the roof (near-microscopic) which probably settled there when the rear light detail were added at the factory. Stray flick of factory silver near the rear bumper.
Couple of tiny dots to the paint finish.
We are being extra-fussy here.
The clean and bright monochrome card plinth has very minor wear.
Lots of info about the U.N.C.L.E organisation on box reverse as well as pictures and signatures of the T.V. series protagonists.
The outer box is bright, clean and complete. Crisp feel to the smooth, silky rarely handled card. Little scuff.
With all card packing pieces.
