Corgi Toys 497 Man From UNCLE
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Thrushbuster by Corgi Toys, No. 497. Very near mint/boxed. Dark blue issue with Waverley ring. Plinth with deep orange rectangle detail and plastic spotlights. Wrap-around packing card packing piece and BOTH card rings. All original! From The Kingshill Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1966-69, this Oldsmobile car has a gleaming, deep purple-blue finish, complete bonnet logo (a little of the usual age transparency), bright chrome parts, detailed cast wheels. Fine original tyres. If you press the roof periscope the figure moves from side to side to shoot the enemy! This is the version with plastic chromed spotlights (to dazzle the enemy!). A very attractive item on display:
Faint little roof scratch and the occasional tiny mark. Minor dulling in places to the roof button.
So often lost or replaced with a copy, this Thrushbuster comes with its original Waverley ring. Changing image on the ring face of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin.
The clean and fresh-looking card plinth with *orange-red rectangular detail is complete and feels crisp. Vivid colours and minor wear only.
Lots of info about the U.N.C.L.E organisation on box reverse as well as pictures and signatures of the T.V. series protagonists.
The outer box is bright and complete, looking fresh. Only the most minor wear. Includes the original card wrap-around packing piece and both card rings too.
