Corgi Toys 324 Marcos Volvo 1800 Colour Trial

Purchased by a Corgi specialist, this is one of a cache of mid 1960’s models which included colour trial models, donated to Barnardo’s Charity upon the death of a relative. The Barnardo’s charity shop is located just a few minutes from the old Corgi headquarters….

Issued between 1966-69, this colour trial model has an original mid-blue finish, moulded bright red interior on the bonnet. This blue issue was never issued with this bright red colour interior.
Note the difference between the colour finish of this colour trial model and the production model in bright mid blue and white bonnet stripes. For information only:

Spring suspension on all four untarnished wire wheels. Opening doors. Opening bonnet reveals a detailed silver engine. Fine original late issue nylon tyres with Corgi toys embossed. Rivetted base with large penned number (typical of many Corgi colour trial models).

Few marks to the paint finish.
Correct that this colour trial model would be unboxed.
