Spot-On Models 420 Ford Zephyr Police Car
Ford Zephyr Police Car by Spot-on Models, No. 420. Very near mint/boxed. So scarce - and a First for QDT! From The 25 Year Collection in California. QDT starting bid £250. Please note that QDT apply 12.5% buyer's commission.
Notes
Just like the Z Cars version – although this 420 version has to be even rarer! Issued (we surmise) possibly late 1965-early 1966 by the well respected Spot-On company, this Zephyr Police Car is in very close to mint condition, finished in matte white, complete with both figures, both aerials (original and intact), red interior, and number plates front and rear (portion missing to the front plate).
Obviously unused, this model has complete POLICE labels. Gives the impression of unsold old shop stock.
Tiny mark or two to the paint finish and a small retouch to the driver’s door. Rub to the rear bumper.
The intricate card inner which serves as a fitting backdrop for the model is complete, clean and fresh, just as in the ‘Z Cars’ version (although of course without the Z Cars Sign). Small scuff.
The cellophane-fronted box looks bright and complete, showing a little age/handling wear. Price label residue on the reverse. The smooth original cellophane has merely a tiny puncture. With over-stuck product number label at both ends (age-affected now).
