This classic Dinky Car Transporter presents so well especially with a fresh-looking striped Supertoys box.
This particular issue was made toward the end of the production run with window glazing and treaded tyres, in the Supertoys box with italicised print. Mid-blue cab and hubs and a paler blue back including the decks.
Complete ‘DINKY TOYS DELIVERY SERVICE’ lettering on both sides, and at the rear too. Large baseplate print with 982 stamped on the trailer. The sheen on this model shows that it has been handled only occasionally. Well-shaped treaded tyres run well.
Hard to find a mark to the paint finish – just a few little marks (as usual) on the hinged ramp! Very small area of blooming to the paint near one of the rivets.
The ‘Dinky Supertoys’ striped box with italicised print is the slightly wider version, since it would have contained the ramp (printed on the box too). It is complete and bright, feeling sturdy. Small area of surface loss immediately next to a price label on the underside. Light wear besides. Nice to see the deep blue card packing wedges.
