Notes
Issued between 1936-39, and one of the range of Pre-War Delivery Vans from Dinky, always sought-after by collectors.
These early models were made from an impure metal alloy which was unstable, so any of these early models in pretty sound condition are especially prized.
In all original condition, this Type 2 Delivery Van is finished in green with very nearly complete-complete ‘ATCO’ lettering on both sides in gold and red.
Correct thin axles and the original white tyres (note that the axles no longer turn – probably a dab of glue has secured them in place). Black wheels are intact. Tyres have expected age wear including some cracking, but in our opinion, we do not expect any further deterioration, as long as the model is carefully handled and thoughtfully stored.
The casting itself has surface crazing in places. We would not anticipate any further deterioration as long as it is carefully handled and stored.
A light sprinkling of chips to the paint.
A precious survivor from the earliest period of Dinky model making.
