Corgi Gift Set 40
Corgi Gift Set 40. The Avengers. Very near mint/boxed. Very scarce first issue with GREEN BENTLEY. 3 original umbrellas & packing. From The Eric Morris Collection.
Notes
This is the first issue version with the rare green Bentley.
Issued between 1966-69, this set would have been released at the start of the production run.
The set comprises:
1)John Steed’s Bentley in green and black finish, correct for this set with red metal wire wheels. Figure of John Steed at the wheel. In very close to mint condition. Fine original tyres.
2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in crisp white finish. Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Fine original tyres. A few little marks only on the original paint finish. Original figure of Emma Peel.
Three plastic umbrellas. These are notably the originals – so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ‘rolled-up’ cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!
Inner card plinth is bright with vivid illustrations. Very light wear.
The colourful card outer box is complete and strongly-coloured. Presents well, with very light wear only.
Corgi Club Membership Form.
Card packing piece too.
