We are delighted to offer for sale this rare 1st type Dinky Foden Tailboard model from 1947-early 1948. A scarce first type Foden with a deep green 1st type cab and chassis with a paler back, flash and hubs. This model has none of the retouching or repainting that can often plague these valuable early Dinky commercial trucks.
Smart lustre and fine original radial tyres.

Tarnishing to some of the axles. Little marks at wheel arches and just a few on the cab roof. Couple on the tailboard.
Correct that this early example has a small tow hook. No tank slits or chain post bosses on the base. 20 mph label is still in place.
Correct that this model comes in an early buff picture box. Bright paper label on the top surface and at one lid short end. A little age/handling wear. Note that there is a faint factory stamp’R’ for red on one lid end. Traces of red paint on the inside of the box.
