Notes
Issued 1968-69, with a lilac blue finish and distinctive ‘Pop Art’ Flower Power labels throughout. Detailed cast wheels (one finished in gold!), with suspension, and racing number 20. Rare version with ‘Flower Power’ label on boot (as pictured on the box). The bright psychedelic labels are eye-catching, complete, save for a little wear on one of the door labels. Jewelled headlights, opening doors and a perfect Mustang radiator grille label. Bright chrome finish on the bumpers. Light blue interior.
hip low down on the driver’s side rear wing (possibly factory assembly).
The pictorial box is clean and bright with no end flap tears. Crisp feel. Little edge scuff at a small end flap and a small area of surface loss at an end flap probably due to the removal of a price label at some time. Corgi Club Membership Form is included.
An exceptional opportunity to acquire the original Press Release Photograph too – a striking image with the Corgi Flower Power Mustang on King’s Road. This photograph was part of the contents of Marcel Van Cleemput’s (Chief Designer for Corgi) desk and was given to The MBU Collector in recognition of his assistance with The Great Book of Corgi.
On the reverse of the photograph, ‘No’ is pencilled i.e. this picture was not chosen to be included in The Great Book of Corgi, although inclusion was therefore considered.
