Notes
Hard to find in any condition, we are delighted to have this South African Dinky model for sale. Unfinished models were exported to South Africa from 1966. They were sent as castings and painted and assembled there, largely as a way of getting around the laws prohibiting export of finished goods to South Africa at this time. All housed in Dinky boxes with some Afrikaans text and of course most importantly the Arthur E.Harris print on the box.
Finished in a distinctive shade of sleek mid-grey and grey-cream, deep red interior, suspension on spun wheels, South African rivets, and as-new fine tread tyres. Bright chrome, and an intact bonnet emblem.
In very close to mint, original condition:
A few very fine, light scratches at one of the opening windows, couple of tiny marks besides.
The correct Arthur E. Harris Dinky box is complete and brightly-coloured. Small area of surface loss at an end flap crease and a little tear at a small end flap. Minor handling/age wear besides. No graffiti.
One of the rarest Dinky models.
