Notes
This large and detailed Crane Truck has a bright orange and yellow finish, complete with both seated figures, and in original condition throughout. The English version is relatively common, whilst this French issue is scarce. Note the baseplate lettering ‘Assemble En France’ and ‘Meccano Paris’:
This is the early issue so it has two blue metal drivers, no “Long Vehicle” sign, and metal ridged Supertoy wheels. Made between 1957-59, before its re-numbering to 889.
A difficult item to find mint – this example is in close to mint condition with the occasional little chip. Complete ‘Coles’ Transfer. With the realistic working features of hoisting, jib raising and slewing, it is no wonder that this truck is rarely found in absolutely mint condition.
The large deep striped Supertoys box is bright and complete, with no tears or repairs. Rather nice! Complete with inner packing piece and promotional slip too:
