Dinky 501
Dinky 501 Foden Diesel 8-Wheel Wagon. Scarce brown issue. 1st type. Near mint plus/boxed. From The Reigate Collection.
Notes
This classic early Foden truck has such a fine rich brown finish, with a silver flash and black chassis, black original herringbone tyres. Correct that this early issue has no tow hook.
Presents very well indeed. Issued between 1947-48. In all original condition.
Base is complete with spare wheel affixed:
Barely a mark to the paint finish, although note the tiny area of flaked paint at a rear corner on the inside surface of the bed.
The early buff box is brightly-coloured and has the correct early colour spot on a short lid end. No seam tears or repairs on this early style box. Three small areas of surface loss on the paper label. Minor wear besides.
These early Foden models are becoming increasingly hard to find.
