Notes
This scarce issue was made during 1954-55. Vivid red cab and chassis, mid blue back, mid-blue ridged hubs. Large painted hook. Second type cab so this model has triangular lugs at either side of the front number plate.
Bolt fixing and a shiny baseplate. Bright silver radiator and lights. Paint finish is vibrant and glowing. Complete with spare wheel.
Marked Dinky Toys on the base.
Hard to find a mark to the paint finish although the most careful and painstaking scrutiny finds a few curious deeper red spots on the petrol tank and some wheels arches have an extra stroke of red paint. Well-shaped smooth original tyres.
The blue and white striped ‘DINKY TOYS’ picture box is complete and bright. Lightest wear. Dee blue base in particular looks especially fresh – this example has been very well-stored. Dinky stamp inside the box lid dates this particular example from June 1955. Correct Dinky colour spot on a lid end.
