Export issue to the U.S. just one of these export Lincoln Zephyr Coupés for sale is a rare event but with the extremely elusive Trade Box, this is a Red Letter Day!
Issued for export to the U.S. Made for just one year – 1952, and extremely difficult to find in any condition.
1) Version in glossy scarlet red and brownish-maroon, silver trim, red hubs.
Honest condition with some chips commensurate with its age and essentially an unboxed model.
Shiny open base. Original smooth tyres ( both rear tyres have flat spots).
Excellent.
2) Version in deep red and brown, silver trim, matching dark red hubs. Shiny open base has a little marking. Original smooth tyres. Extremely rare issue. Few retouches and some chipping.
3) Version in tan and brown with black wheels. Original smooth tyres run well. Near mint plus with marking mostly to open base.
The elusive Trade box in cream with ‘linen’ texture is complete and sound with no tears or repairs. Light wear (no dividers). Grease pen period price and red U.S. Export Hudson Dobson Label. Residue from original tape which kept the lid closed. Shiny staples.
Undated (but accepted from 1952) U.S. Catalogue, with 2-tone Oldsmobiles, Lincoln Zephyr & Chrysler illustrated. Note the wheel arches on the Horse Van are shown in a darker colour! (Not correct).
Separate Price list included.
Light crease and wear.
A charming period Lincoln Zephyr Car Brochure, from 1939, is included, too.
Message from the owner:
“It took 30 years to acquire my 3 39 Series Trade Boxes and I know of only 2 other examples that have come to market on either side of the Atlantic in that time”.
