Notes
This late issue in the Rainbow window box is an especially difficult find.
1) Corgi 438 Land Rover. This version has suspension on Whizzwheels. Intact labels. Includes Dr. Marsh Tracy (with stethoscope), Judy The Chimp and tiger.
2) Corgi 503 Bedford Giraffe Transporter. With the two giraffes. Detailed cast wheels and since this is the last issue, the rear wheels are recessed and correct without wing mirrors. Note that there is no aperture formed in the side windows for the wing mirrors. Last issue, therefore without the troublesome wing mirrors which were prone to break! Complete labels on both sides. The paint finish has a rather ‘orange peel’ texture now. Apart from that, hard to find a mark!
3) Corgi 483 Dodge Truck ‘Kew Fargo’. Detailed cast wheels. In very near mint condition with complete labels throughout. A couple of little marks at the rear. Both original elephants are included.
Complete with Paula and Clarence The Lion – no spectacles (although we note a factory detail around the eyes, not present on the earlier issues so moot that the late issue did not include separate spectacles? WE wonder whether Corgi considered the spectacles and the wing mirrors on the Giraffe Transporter prone to either getting lost or breaking, so ‘simplified’ the items).
All items are housed in a very fresh and clean polystyrene inner.
The last issue *Rainbow style window box is colourful and clean, looking fresh.
Minor age wear only.
A little top edge ‘ruffling’ to the card. Couple of edge ruffles/tiny starts of tears. Price label residue on an end flap.
