A Dinky Shopkeeper’s Trade Box with original dividers contains 4 Esso Tanker models. Each has the lighter blue lettering on the transfers at the sides.
Early versions with early style baseplates:
Two Tankers are graded near mint due to a little transfer nibbling and one has a flat tyre spot. The other two are near mint plus grade.
These Dinky Tankers were issued between 1952-54 under this early numbering.
The Dinky Trade Box for export has a complete U.S. Export Hudson Dobson label. The bright yellow lift-off lid card box has light wear and a little marking, but no tears or repairs. Note the shopkeepers’s numbering (442) for the later versions. Stamped ‘442’ and period shop label ‘442’.
Nice to see the original card dividers till in situ, too.
