Notes
First issue from 1968.
This sought-after James Bond Aston Martin model is in totally original condition. The silver Aston Martin with gold bumpers has the opening roof feature with the ejector seat mechanism functioning (although do note that the action of closing the roof does not click the ejector seat into place fully, this has to be done manually – common fault). Both figures of James Bond and villain are still seated inside. It has the rear bullet screen which can be raised and lowered, telescopic over-riders, retractable machine guns, revolving number plates and of course the red tyre slasher blades on the rear wheels. Original tyres look as-new. The suspension is fine on detailed spoked wheels.
Paint finish is in stunning virtually mint (hesitate to say absolutely mint, because you can always find the most minute mark if you look hard enough!).
Slightly larger than the 261 James Bond Aston Martin, this model is presented in the most attractive, 1st issue ‘winged box’.
These elaborate boxes so easily get torn or crumpled. This one has survived better than the vast majority you will find. None of the usual card separation to the card rim or around the card blister. The header card is fine and crisp with vivid graphics which have lost none of their vibrancy. Crisp, barely handled feel. Light storage ruffling to the top edge. Penned initial ‘D’.
Box reverse:
The removable card plinth is in very near mint condition. Inside, we have the all-important, crisp and fresh-looking carefully opened Secret Instruction Packet. It contains the Secret Instructions, the sheet of number plates, the badge and a spare villain. All original!
A most attractive, iconic James Bond item.
