Notes
A poignant survivor from the year of racing legend Graham Hill’s death.
Rare items from the evening of in 1975, at The National Sporting Club Dinner with Graham Hill OBE as the Honoured Guest.
These items have been in the possession of one of the guests at that evening, who found out last minute that he would be attending since his boss was unable to go.
The items from that evening:
1) Corgi 156 Graham Hill’s Shadow in the rare Presentation Box with over-sleeve.
Model is in near mint plus condition, with just a little fading to one of the labels. Standard outer box has wear and fading too, with a split to the original cellophane.
The rare over-sleeve which has the Menu for the National Sporting Club Dinner printed is an impressive survivor! Rare to come to the market-place in any condition (we have only sold one other!).
Very light wear includes the occasional tiny crease and a small area of minor discolouration on the reverse.
2) Brochure in honour of Graham Hill with menu, toasts & article written by David Benson motoring editor of The Daily Express.
Couple of very small stains ( guessing gravy – or coffee!) and light edge foxing in places.3) Guest List & Table Plan.
Guests include Barry Sheen, Eric Morecambe, Lord Hesketh, Jackie Stewart, Sterling Moss, Emerson Fittipaldi, James Hunt & Henry Cooper!
Moderate edge foxing and a light centre crease.
4) Original Graham Hill ash tray for this event! Virtually perfect condition.
