Corgi FAO Schwarz Set 3

The Old School Collector recalls purchasing this Set in New York back in the day!

Very rare to come to the market place, this is one of a very small range of Gift Sets sold through the FAO Schwarz toy shops in the U.S. This particular example is a 3-part set which has survived in a close to pristine state and comprises:

1) Corgi 503 Circus Giraffe Transporter with Giraffes. Shaped spun wheel issue, Very near mint. Probably as-made incomplete slivering to front bumper. With packing. Intensely crisp, as-new card box, with Corgi Club Membership Form.

2) Corgi 1130 Circus Horse Transporter with Horses. Shaped spun wheels. Grey horses. Complete wing mirrors. Very near mint with packing sleeve. Very close to pristine, vibrantly-coloured outer box.Fine card plinth (tiny wheel slot tear).

3) Corgi Gift Set 19 Chipperfields Land-Rover with Elephant and Cage on Trailer. Very near mint (few little marks at rear of Landrover due to contact with the tow bar). Vibrant glossy colours, as-new labels and such a deeply-coloured plastic canopy. With packing. Box looks day-one fresh with intensely-coloured card. Small scuff at an end flap. A few minor wheels slot tears due to model movement.

The most important component of this set is, of course, this striking FAO Schwarz box!

Strongly-coloured in deep turquoise with a very lightly patterned cream lower half. Complete clean and bright strip label at one short end of the lid.CiRCUS SET F.A.O.S. 3 in blue print on a white label.
The lid has lost none of its colour vibrancy and looks rarely handled. Note the small neat repair at a lid seam.
Included is the original small card packing piece and card packing tray.
