Corgi Gift Set 7
Corgi Gift Set 7 Daktari. Very, very near mint/boxed. Spun wheels issue, complete with all characters and accessories. Wider Lines on Landrover. From The Old School Collection.
Notes
This popular Corgi Gift Set was inspired by the children’s t.v. programme Daktari (Swahili for doctor!) and is complete.
It contains:
1) Corgi 438 Land Rover in green with wide black stripes. So often the transfer immediately below the windscreen flakes away, this example has an intact and complete transfer! Small flake of paint on the bed (probably as-made) and residue from one of the sticky pads provided by Corgi to fix the figures into place.
It comes complete with tiger on the bonnet, Dr. Marsh Tracy (with his stethoscope and chimp). Suspension on shining, shaped spun wheels. Well-shaped original tyres. Figures of Paula and of course, the cross-eyed lion Clarence, complete with spectacles! So often these sets are found with the spectacles and stethoscope missing (so easily lost).
Nice to see this set complete. Lion and Paula are still factory banded in place on the colourful card insert. Card stand is fresh and clean with no tears.
The cellophane-fronted window box is clean and bright, with attractive vivid illustrations.
Happily free of the usual crease at box reverse. All end flaps are in place, although one has a small seam tear. Couple of light creases & grubbiness. Pencilled price. Original cellophane window is notably intact.
