Notes
A very detailed and pleasing item from Corgi as part of their Corgi Comics range, in all original and complete condition.(1969-72). This is the slightly rarer version with white wheels. It has all the moving figures of Popeye, Olive Oyl, Swee’Pea, Bluto and Wimpey, with the original little card packing piece still included. It works perfectly – as you push the model along the figures of Bluto and Wimpey go up and down whilst Popeye moves from side to side as he scans the horizon, and Olive Oyl sways from side to side as she drives along! A delightful item which has remained completely untouched – complete with its cans of spinach and paper labels still attached! Little Swee’Pea is safely stowed in the life boat, which can be dropped down – both plastic attachments are absolutely fine on this example. The labels are very fresh and bright, and both jewelled headlights are present. The chimney has been protected by the little card packing piece so the chrome finish is completely unrubbed.
A superb, completely unused example – we have never seen better!
The cellophane-fronted window box looks so fresh and bright with strong colours.
Note the white colour spot denoting the wheel colour of this example with intact original cellophane and all three polystyrene packing pieces are still in place. Pristine. Crisp clean and fresh Corgi Club Membership Form.
The inner card display piece is intensely crisp, clean and bright. Tiny crumple where the card packing piece has come into contact with the top cut-out section. Small punctures at one side due to movement of the model within the box have pressed back into place.
This model is an outstanding display piece! A firm Corgi favourite and one of the best examples we have seen.
Guaranteed to bring a smile to your face – every time!
