C266
Corgi 266 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Near mint plus/boxed. Complete with all four original figures and wrap-around cloud scene! Original and best 1st issue from The MBU Collection.
Notes
This is the ‘most fantasmagorical’ Corgi toy, in all original, close to mint condition. Gleaming bright, with all four original figures seated inside. All jewels are complete, front and rear number plates are intact, as are the delicate carriage lamps. The car functions well: the wings flip out when the handbrake is depressed. Just a little marking to the plating at headlights. Note too, the paint loss on the tail fin. Minor ‘speckling’ to the running boards.
Looks as if it has never been removed from the plastic stand (both original fixings are still in place).
The white plastic inner has some of the usual small splits (becomes very fragile over time) and a tiny section detached on its journey to us. The blue card cloud scene (often missing) is in fine condition.
The large cellophane fronted “window” box is complete and bright, with the usual crease on the box reverse where the header card meets the main body of the box.
None of the usual end flap tears! Light wear/grubbiness only. Original cellophane is notably intact, too.
A firm Corgi favourite – one of the most decorative and much-loved Corgi models.
