D512
Dinky 512 Guy Flat Truck. Rare issue in maroon & black. Very near mint/boxed. A premium item from The Reference Collection.
Notes
This rare first issue example in maroon and black made between 1947-48 only. 1st type issue in all original condition throughout. Maroon ridged wheels and smooth black, well-shaped original tyres. ‘Dinky Supertoys’ on the base. Shiny bolt fixing and axles held in place by tinplate clips.
Such a fine lustre to this distinctive warm finish! Spare wheel, small unpainted hook.
Not easy to find in this condition. High lustre and gleaming metal parts show that this model has been very carefully handled and stored. Minor mark or two to the paint finish.
The early buff box has complete and bright paper labels, save for a couple of the tiniest edge nicks. The card is sound showing minimal and careful handling, and there is no rust staining at the staples. No splits. The colours have lost none of their vibrancy. Presents very well. Quality Control Stamp on the underside of the box base.
Period pencilled price at lid end label. Note the factory ‘R’ at one lid end denoting colour of model.
An exceptional item from this collection.
