Notes
A message regarding this model’s history from The Reference Collector:
“I bought a number of pieces a few years ago from the son of a diplomat who was based in Addis Ababa and apparently in the early ’60s Emperor Haile Selassie banned the sale of imported products, so the local toy shop had to sell its stock for very little or face being put in jail”.
Two-tone blue finish and shaped spun hubs on this commercial truck. This model was issued between 1957-65. Issued toward the end of the production run with shaped spun wheels. In virtually mint condition and a lustrous paint finish. Complete with spare wheel stowed underneath. Well-shaped original tyres run well.
A beauty!
The blue and yellow pictorial box is complete, clean and bright. Crisp feel. Few flecks of surface loss at one edge and a pen mark. Minor age wear besides. Shopkeeper’s period price label on a non-picture side.
