Notes
We are delighted to offer for sale this rare promotional Vanwall model!
This promotional issue is an extremely difficult version to find. Tony Vandervell built the Vanwall Racing Car, driven by Stirling Moss. A very small quantity were produced with racing number 20 and printed Vandervell Products Ltd. information on the base.
Deep racing green finish, silver seat, driver figure (correct detailed version for this issue). Clear screen. Flat spun wheels. Suspension on well-shaped original fine tread tyres.
Hard to find any marks to the paint finish but note that under close inspection one will note that this Vandervell version used the suspension Vanwall in red and so traces of the original red paint can be seen. Note too that unlike the standard Corgi 150S this model does not bear the embossed lettering ’150’s, ‘Corgi Toys’ or ‘Vanwall’.
Blue and yellow picture box is complete and bright if a little grubby, with some light edge rubbing in places.
With this model, the original owner purchased the display plinth with plaque and substantial clear cover, along with a wonderful large black and white print of Stirling Moss at the end of a race. Period VANWALL brochure and badge too and 4 period Motor Racing magazines. Vanwall video too.
