This Ford Transit Fire Appliance is the 1st issue in non-metallic red – a more difficult find. Complete ‘FIRE SERVICE’ paper labels on both sides, intact original aerial, opening doors with fire hose, which you can retract by means of a lever. Comes complete with the two axes! Shiny spun wheels and as-new original tyres.
Matte base.
Model looks unused with complete paper labels and barely a mark.
The colourful card box is complete and bright. Very small start of a tear at the tuck-in part of one large end flap (always a vulnerable area), and minor handling wear as you might expect (heavy model in a comparatively flimsy box).
Issued 1968-74, although this version would be at the start of the production run.
