D142
Dinky 142 Jaguar Mark X. Rare SOUTH AFRICAN issue in LIGHT BLUE. Very near mint/boxed. From a high quality collection in Australia.
Notes
Unfinished models were exported to South Africa from 1966. They were sent as castings and painted and assembled there, largely as a way of getting around the laws prohibiting export of finished goods to South Africa at this time. All housed in Dinky boxes with some Afrikaans text and of course most importantly the Arthur E.Harris print on the box.
Finished in original and attractive light blue with shiny spun wheels, silver trim, cream base, South African rivets, and as-new fine tread tyres. Three pieces of luggage in the boot.
In very near mint, original condition:
Few negligible marks. Note the factory detail of silver on the bonnet (not a chip!).
The correct Arthur E. Harris Dinky box is clean, complete and brightly-coloured.
A very nice example for a South African Dinky box! Minor wear includes a sliver of surface loss at a small end flap hinge. Original informative label/price at an end flap.
One of the rarest Dinky models.
