C342
Corgi 342 Lamborghini with RED SPOT WHEELS. Near mint plus/unboxed. Very scarce version from The Monty Calme Collection.
Notes
The Lamborghini model was issued between 1970-72. A long time in the pipeline – it was originally scheduled for release in November 1968. (in fact, The Great Book of Corgi tells us that it was pencilled in as far back as October 1967!).
A few models found their way into the market place with red-spot wheels – and we sold this example originally to Monty Calme as part of the collection we handled from The Austrian Collector ( who was a friend of Marcel Van Cleemput), several years ago.
Finished in lime green with black louvres, jewelled headlights, red interior. Opening bonnet and engine cover. Gold wheels with red spot centres. Fine original tyres (although one has a light flat spot). Minor mark or two, and light colour fading in places.
The standard production model would be issued with Whizzwheels. Please see page 252 in The Great Book of Corgi for more details.
